How to ensure the quality and reliability of complex robots from the very first deployments at customer sites?
This was the critical question Enchanted Tools had to face when entering the pre-commercialization phase. To meet this challenge, the team turned to Tuleap, a test management solution that is powerful, user-friendly, and well-suited to hybrid hardware/software environments.
Juliette Lansoy, Integration, Validation & Verification Manager, shares her feedback and experience.
Enchanted Tools, a French startup specializing in assistive robotics, has industrialized its system testing with the help of Tuleap. Here’s a look back at an agile and fast deployment experience.
A Key Challenge: Ensuring Flawless Quality from the Very First Customers
Enchanted Tools, a fast-growing French startup, is developing assistant robots unlike any other, both highly advanced and endearing. But as the company begins commercializing its first Mirokaï models, a new challenge arises: delivering a flawless experience to every customer, right from the very first batches.
Stabilize and secure the design.
Deliver rich, well-controlled features.
Ensure performance safety and repeatability.
To achieve this, the team was looking for a tool capable of structuring tests, centralizing data, tracking results, and remaining easy to use for all team members.
Why Tuleap? The 3 key drivers
Enchanted Tools naturally turned to Tuleap for several reasons:
An intuitive interface for testers, even without technical training.
Unmatched administrative flexibility to customize campaigns.
Un accès rapide et centralisé aux données de test.
With Tuleap, once you’ve mastered the tool, you can really do anything. Very few other solutions offer that.

The trial version allowed them to get started immediately, and in just one week, the first test campaign was up and running. The team was able to quickly validate the effectiveness of the solution.
Rapid adoption and immediate benefits
Since the implementation of Tuleap:
New employees become autonomous in just a few days.
Tests can be conducted without supervision.
Information is centralized, easy to track, and above all, reliable.
What has changed is that I know where to find the information, and I’m sure it won’t get lost. It’s very reassuring.

Tester un robot mêlant hardware et software : le rôle central de Tuleap chez Enchanted Tools
At Enchanted Tools, Tuleap is used to manage all system tests, covering:
- Interactions between hardware and software
- Complete scenarios, from robot startup to shutdown
- Functional and performance validations
This approach makes it possible to combine industrial rigor with agility, two essential requirements in a pre-production commercialization context.
The Mirokaï: robots like no other. Did you know?
At the heart of the project are the Mirokaï: Miroki and Miroka, characters from a distant planet. Thanks to the "space suits" developed by Enchanted Tools, they can come to Earth to assist humans with logistical and support missions. Beyond the technology, Enchanted Tools offers a true emotional and human experience by integrating personality and design into each of its robots.

🎙️ Interview
JB. “Enchanted Tools started out eight years ago, first as an idea in Jérôme’s mind and his co-founders’, to design the character and imagine what it could be. Once he secured the funding to launch the company, things really got going in 2021 with the creation of a first prototype in just one year. Then came the evolution towards an industrial version, which is still underway. They’ve already started selling this pre-series version to partners and research labs so they can move forward together on the product’s development.”

Who are the Mirokaï?
JB. “So, Miroki and Mirokaï are both characters with their own personalities and a strong character design. They come from a planet far away from here. We build them space suits so they can come to Earth with us, cross through the portal, and help us out in roles where they interact directly with humans.”Miroki, any words for us?
Miroki “My name is Miroki and I live inside a robot created by Enchanted Tools. My role is to assist humans with logistics tasks, interact with people, carry objects, and manage environments.”Why did you need a test management tool?
JB. “We’ve started selling the product. That’s a crucial step for us because those first customers are our ambassadors, so we can’t afford to let them down with a robot that doesn’t meet acceptable quality standards. Right now, our priorities are to stabilize the design, make it more robust, and give our customers as many features as possible while ensuring the product’s repeatability and reliability.”Why Tuleap?
JB. “What pushed us to choose Tuleap was the final user interface, the one the people running the tests actually see. Also, the ability to pull all the data at once, and the flexibility in how we can manage everything. Sure, you need to master the tool, but once you do, you can do pretty much whatever you want, and there aren’t many tools out there that allow that.”How did the Tuleap rollout go?
JB. “What helped us move quickly was that Tuleap offers a trial version, so you can try it out without committing. Then, setting up the tool was very fast. Within a week, we’d integrated our first test campaign, which meant we could quickly run tests with people who hadn’t even been trained on it, because for end users, it’s very easy to use.”How do you use Tuleap?
JB. “We mainly use Tuleap for system testing. It’s a product that combines hardware and software, so we use it to organize manual tests that cover the whole product, from the customer’s perspective as well as for specific functionality and performance checks. So, we have a scenario that goes from powering the product on to shutting it down, covering everything we expect the robot to do.”What changes have you noticed since using it?
JB. “Since we started using Tuleap, the big difference is that we know exactly where to find information, it’s easy to access and easy to track. The amount of training I need to do for new team members is minimal. In just a few days, they know how to use the tool, launch tests, and simply say whether a test has passed or failed. That means I don’t have to attend every test session and I can be confident the information is there and won’t get lost. Honestly, that’s pretty reassuring.”
Eight years ago, the idea of Enchanted Tools was born in the minds of Jérôme and his partners. Their goal: to create robots embodying endearing characters, capable of evolving alongside humans.
In 2021, after securing the necessary funding, the industrial journey began with the creation of a first prototype in just one year. Since then, the company has continued developing its robots toward an industrial version and has already launched a pre-series commercialization with laboratories and partners. These early customers play a key role: they are co-developers and brand ambassadors.
